You’re laying on the grass, staring up into the clear blue sky, feeling the wind on your face, and a sparrow flies above you. You’re riding your horse through the forest and you hear the thunderous beat of a grouse drumming. It’s the beginning of October and you’ve just started harvesting your bumper crop of potatoes and carrots, and you hear the flocks of Canada Geese flying south. How many times have we also dreamt of flying south for the winter, desperately not wanting to have to dig our cars out of the snow just to get to work. But how do birds do it? The flying, the dive-bombing? How do those hummingbirds always find their way back to where you put that feeder out in spring?

Kid’s Bird Crafts

Hey Kids! Come to the museum on Thursday, January 19th between 3:30-5:00 p.m. to make a bird themed craft. Ages 5-15 are welcome and all crafts can be taken home. Bring your creativity and love for birds, no fees will be collected. Donations are always gladly accepted.

Planetarium is Coming to Evansburg!Join us on January 7th for a once in a life time Planetarium experience! We will be hosting two shows one at 7:00 p.m. and one at 8:00 p.m. All ages are welcome. $3.00 per person or $10.00 a family. Please be aware that each individual must be capable to sit quietly on mats for an hour and be able to duck down into the large dome. We are thrilled to be hosting the planetarium and learning more about locating constellations and more about the Milky Way galaxy. Tickets available at the door.
